Dharamshala also spelled Dharamsala, town,
western Himachal Pradesh state,
northwestern India. It is
located on a lower slope of the Himalayas.
Dharamshala is a scenic health resort. Aerated water is
bottled there, and slate is quarried nearby. The town was virtually destroyed by an
earthquake in 1905, but it was then rebuilt.
Dharamshala is the home of Dalai Lama and is a famous tourist
destination in North India. Dalai Lama is a Tibetan spiritual leader whose
abode is about 3 km from Dharamshala, in McLeodGanj. It is easy to reach
Dharamshala, and there are a number of things you can do here.

Tsuglagkhang Monastery, also
known as Dalai Lama's Temple complex, is the home for His Holiness Dalai Lama.
It is among the world renowned religious centers and is thronged by Buddhist
pilgrims throughout the year. Tsuglagkhang Monastery is beautifully built
structure. This is more like a temple along with being a residential complex
for His Holiness and his followers.
The complex houses the Photang (Dalai Lama's
residence), Tibet Museum, Tsuglagkhang Temple, and Namgyal Gompa. The monastery
deals with training of monks for rituals associated with holy shrine, whereas
the temple is a chief place of worship. A beautifully decorated statue of Lord
Buddha along with beautiful statues of Padmasambhava and Avalokiteshvara are
housed in the temple. It is open from sunrise to sunset each day and is visited
by thousands of tourist and devotees.

Namgyal Monastery is
currently located in Mcleodganj, Dharamsala, India. It is the personal
monastery of the 14th Dalai Lama. Another name for this temple-complex is
Namgyal Tantric College. This monastery's key role is to assist with rituals
involving the Dalai Lama of Tibet.

St. John in the Wilderness
St. John in the Wilderness is a protestant church dedicated to John the Baptist. It was built in 1852 and is located near Dharamshala, India, on the way to McLeod Ganj, at Forsyth Gunj. Set amidst deodar forest, and built in neo-Gothic architecture, the Church is known for its Belgian stained-glass windows donated by Lady Elgin (Mary Louisa Lambton), wife of Lord Elgin. The Church is under Diocese of Amritsar. Rev.Ajay Singh is the presbyter in charge of this church.

jewellery, sovereigns, paintings and
local food items.
After exploring the
mcleodganj market it’s time to see sunset from Naddi sunset view point. you can
see the panaromic view of the mountains.
